Mitch actually wrote a letter this week!! (He sent some pictures too!) (It was sent 4/9/2009 – wow, it gets here so much faster when sent from Maine rather than Canada!!)
Hey family. Well how are you all doing? It’s been awhile since I’ve wrote – sorry. Well conference was rockin’. My favorite was Elder Holland’s – it was freakin’ sweet. I loved how he explained the atonement. I also loved Elder Hales talk. He is also one of my favorites and of course the 1st presidency always does a rockin job.
So what’s new with you guys? Want to know something weird. I can’t think of much new with me and I haven’t wrote for like a month.
We have zone conference Monday. I’m sure it’ll be good. We have state conference the 25th (21 month mark :) also the NFL draft!) and the 26 Elder Jay E Jensen is going to be there and one other general authority. I don’t know who though. I’m a bit nervous to meet Jay E. Jensen. He sounds a bit I don’t know what the word is but he seems a bit rude. I’m sure it’s not true and he wants to have a meeting with just missionaries. He just sounds really intense.
Any way, I love you all so much. Thanks so much for all the things you guys do for me. Love you tons. Your guys are the best. I’ve got the greatest family and the greatest friends and this is a good time to tell ‘em all to start planning on going to visit Sean. Me and B-Framp are already going :)

Email sent 4/8/2009 - testimony
Hey I'm sending this for a few reasons some of you have asked for my testimony and I want to share it with a few others and the other is to stop any worries you may have about me. I just want to tell everyone I'm fine for those of you who thought I was struggling. I'm doing great you really don't need to worry about me. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith and he saw the Father and the Son in the year 1820 in a great vision. That there are living apostles and prophets on the earth today and we are lucky enough to be able to listen to them every 6 months as we just were able to. I know that the Book Of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was able to translate it by the gift and power of god. I knew before I left that the church was true I'll never forget the feelings I had and the experience that lead to those feelings of knowing that the church was true. I know I was blessed greatlly by being born into the covenant and into this great church. I now know and understand why the church is true the organization, the doctrine, full filling prophesy after prophesy of the ancient prophets. I know that this is the Stone cut without hand that daniel saw in that great vision I'm so greatful for all of your guys love and support over a few months, a few years, since I was 6 and we used to beat each other up in kindergarden, or since the first time you held me however long I have known you I just want to say thanks for everything I love you all and hope you know that

Well this has been quite the eventful week. I hit my 18 month mark and we had zone conference.
So zone conference was sweet. We had interviews with president. He cracks me up. He was up talking in zone conference and he said we need to love the people. Canadians are different; there not American but they are Heavenly Father’s children. It was so funny. There were like 4 Canadian missionaries all upset & offended. Everyone but them was laughing.
So, one more quick story. We were in the bathroom after zone conference – me, Searle, & Marcus and we were talkin about the tail of your tie. Marcus and myself have no tail but Searle’s tail is so long and Marcus grabbed it & he’s like holy cow that’s huge! We then realized how gay that sounds coming from the bathroom!

have you guys ever called president and complained to him? the reason I ask is because he always tells us how mom's call and complain about stuff and I didn't think you would but I just wanted to make sure and also if you did I wouldn't be able to tell you all the stories I tell you

How are you doing today?
It was pretty ball freezing cold this past week like -25 without the windchill. I don't know what it was with it.
I'm doing ok.
My new comps mom - I feel really bad for her they were really close and she cares a lot about him. he talks about her all the time - he was a big time mama's boy but nothing compaired to me ;) love you :)
Tell dad that he makes me so proud and how great of a guy I know he is - all the little things he does just to help people out. I love him and you so much. You are the best 2 parents in the world really I have no clue how I got you 2. you guys rock I love you so much.

Question of the month for the Band of Brothers: Who is the most interesting character you've met and why is he/she the most intersting character?
Answer: John petti pa he is the guy that blows off the fire works just because he is so crazy and so loud and he is hands down the funniest and craziest person I have ever met. he lights off a fire work every time we leave there :)

Hey what’s up? So I heard the Utes won. I thought I was going to be mad but then I realized how sweet it is. Freakin’ they should have been national camps – stupid BCS! They beat everyone they played.
I miss my boys so much. There all such pimps. I miss getting a text at 2:00 in the morning telling me that Sean and Braden and Ben are coming to join me and Zach’s NCAA fest then getting Zach all flustered. Freak I had the best group of boys ever. We would go on Beto’s runs at 1:00 and come home to you mom telling me to come upstairs to talk to you. haha

I got a email from my boy z brady. im so freakin happy. we are going to live together and all that good stuff.
I dont know how much homework would get done it would be so sweet though we could go on double dates and when benny gets home he could move in with us it would be so freakin sweet.

With 2 more missionaries and no car we have to do stuff early and fast. I have only like 30 minutes left.
The sweetest thing about being a missionary is Becoming good friends with members and non-members and that I only have 7 more months of it hahahahahahahaha.
I might need to send another package home. It will have another photo album in it so let me know if thats ok if I use my card for that. I'm trying to keep it so the only thing you and dad pay for is postage stuff.
I hate having 4 Elders in 1 appartment there is no room any where. Walking every where sucks. The weather is the highlight and its -12 if that tells you anything.
I love you so much and our family. They don't dance around the point - they get strait to it tell it like it is and they love to joke around. well I better get going love you tons hope all is well love you love you Mitch

Hey whats up?
The ring fit. It's good to know that the money you put in was money i can spend.
Well we are both staying, just both getting new companions. I'm training a new missionary.
It sucks - its winter i'll only have a car 2 days a week. I can walk 2 ways there to 2 different parts but one is a mile and the other is 2.5 miles just to get to the start. The one good thing is it will help me lose weight!
Searle is going to be in my zone so that will be really sweet. he will be in sydney so ill see him like 4 times a transfer which is good. he wont be a zone leader any more.
My jacket is keeping me warm. I found some boots here so they should help and i got shoes from bro green in nfld. he gave me some dockers so they hold up great.
well we are going to go to tracys (for New Year's Eve) and then who know what we are going to do but guess what i can say at midnight i go home this year
i have to go love you tons take care till next week love you

New Glasgow is good.
We chopped down a christmas tree the other day it was a really nice tree. Sounds good about the gifts and stuff. I'll be looking forward to getting the packages. are you sure you guys dont want anything?
The old people are about to feed us so I'll be back in like 30 minutes. Guess what. I met someone who went to lone peak and the weirdest part is she is like a really cool sister missionary!
Some of the older sisters in the branch sew quilts every wednesday for humanitarian stuff and then feed us about noon. It takes about 30-45 minutes everytime.
next week i wont be on though because we have zone leader council. we go to halifax for it. we have a bit of snow right now but alot melted the last few days
